Saturday Night Warm-Up Tracks: Christmas songs by The Vandals and Run DMC

Christmas is fast approaching so we thought we would share a little of our Yuletide joy with you for this week’s Saturday Night Warm-Up Tracks.

JOE

It’s Christmas!!! Kinda!. As the festive season approaches, the Christmas cheer has swept through JOE Towers like a fat, bearded man sweeps across the sky on the 24th. With so much Yuletide joy we thought we would share a little with you for this week’s Saturday Night Warm-Up Tracks.

Various Artists – Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Kicking off this festive playlist is the wonderfully traditional Rudolph tune that all the kids love. It’s a classic as we’re sure you’ll agree. Whilst the carolers may be missing from this version, Dez Fafara of Devildriver and Coal Chamber (they’re back???It’s like being 14 again) does an absolutely Santa-tastic job of filling in.

The Vandals – My First Xmas as a Woman

Good ol’ transgender Christmas classics. Many a night has been spent around the piano with a vintage scotch singing this all-time classic. Well maybe not. In fact none of that is true. But anyways, here’s The Vandals to give you the gift of food… for thought. We should stop now.

Run DMC – Christmas in Hollis

Now this actually is a classic. Many a night has been spent… okay, we’ll behave. ‘Christmas in Hollis’ was released in 1987 as part of the ‘A Very Special Christmas’ compilation. The album was put together to raise money for the Special Olympics and a bloody good job it did too, being certified quadruple platinum in 1988.
