Saturday Warm Up Tracks: The nostalgic PlayStation edition

We've all been discussing the launch of the new PlayStation 4 in the JOE offices these days, and it had us nostalgic for a few tunes from the best games we can remember.

With that in mind, we decided that, for this week's Warm Up Tracks, we would delve into the bestest games soundtracks that ever existed, and by that we mean Tony Hawks.

Dead Kennedys – Police Truck

Taken from the very first Tony Hawk’s game, the release that really kickstarted the genre and had us all in love with skateboarding. Well from the safety of our armchairs at least.

Rage Against the Machine – Guerilla Radio

A song synonymous with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. Many a day was spent ollying and kickflipping and all them other skateboardery things listening to this on a loop. Would grinding a swimming pool be the same with out a bit of Rage?

Queens of the Stone Age – Millionaire

Undoubtedly a Nick Oliveri contribution to the Q.O.T.S.A. repertoire and a great contribution to the open world Tony Hawk’s Underground game. It was the first time you were able to create yourself and thankfully JOE was a rather cool looking teenager so we had probably the coolest character created…baggy jeans, tight shirt…long hair…yup, real cool.
