You know the statue of Phil Lynott that sits just off of Grafton Street on Harry Street? Well two little b*llixes almost broke it in half last night…
We all get a bit carried away with ourselves at 4.15am on a Thursday night/Friday morning after we’ve had a few to drink, but we fail to see how two young lads in Dublin thought it would be a great idea to push over the statue of Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott on Harry Street.
RTÉ tweeted out a pic of the damage, which you’ll see below…
Gardaí say two men in their 20s are to blame for the incident which took place at 4.15am this morning. According to the Irish Independent, “Gardaí said one was wearing a white shirt, a tie, trousers or jeans and had short dark hair while the second man wore a navy or dark jacket, had a tight haircut and heavy build.”
The Guards are now looking to speak to people who witnessed the incident, especially a group of people who helped to lift the statue back up.
The statue is currently being repaired and the gobsheens in question currently have half of Twitter (the Irish half) up in arms. We hope the lads are happy.
