You know those X-rated images you and the missus took after a passionate night of you know what? Well, chances are those pics are on the internet by now.

According to a new study from Britain’s Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) eighty-eight per cent of homemade porn, which includes videos and still images, eventually finds its way onto porn sites. The most worrying aspect of this new study is that the X-rated images often end up online without the owners’ knowledge.

The IWF’s study analysed more than 12,000 raunchy images that had been uploaded by naïve amateurs and found that the vast majority of them had been stolen and put up on ‘parasite’ websites.

These ‘parasite’ sites, as the IWF calls them, get their material from stolen mobiles and laptops or from hacked social media accounts.

“We need young people to realise that once an image or a video has gone online, they may never be able to remove it entirely,” said Susie Hargreaves, CEO of the Internet Watch Foundation, to the Guardian.

“Once an image has been copied on to a parasite website, it will no longer suffice to simply remove the image from the online account.”

So just leave it to the pros from now on…
