Sunday Chill-Out Tracks: Christmas special featuring Ben Folds, Belle and Sebastian and Of Montreal
We’ll be honest, Christmas songs will be the norm up until the big day and JOE’S Chill-Out Tracks will be no different. We like to think we’ve avoided the worst of the lot and left you with a few Christmassy gems to enjoy this morning.

Ben Folds – ‘Bizarre Christmas Incident’
Ah Ben Folds, what a man. This is a track that’s quite hard to find and only seems to have been included on a Japanese release of ‘Ben Folds Live’.
It’s a great alternative to the usual Christmas fodder that will have invaded your ears by now, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Belle and Sebastian – ‘O Come, O Come, Emmanuel’
Has there been a more beautiful rendition of a Christmas song than this?
We’re hard pushed to find one. If you have any suggestions feel free to give us a shout. The track featured on the charity compilation ‘It’s a Cool Cool Christmas’ back in 2000, which featured artists such as Grandaddy and Teenage Fanclub, so it’s one that you should check out, if it is to be found.
Of Montreal – ‘Christmas isn’t Safe for Animals’
And finally for this week it's Of Montreal with ‘Christmas isn’t Safe for Animals’.
The song is the closing track on their 2003 EP ‘If He is Protecting our Nation, then Who Will Protect Big Oil, Our Children?’ It’s a great song and one that just may be sadly forgotten amongst the ‘classic’ Christmas hits.
