A new survey reveals what our favourite sounds are and it's no surprise that the sound of sizzling bacon and rain against windows are just some of our favourites.

What’s your favourite sound? Think about it for a second. It’s not something you’d think about too often as hundreds, if not thousands, of different sounds bombard us everyday, so you’d be forgiven for not picking one out straight off the bat.

According to a new survey, which was commissioned by Drayton Manor Theme Park, the sound of waves crashing against rocks at the seaside is our ultimate no.1 favourite sound. Other noises to make the favourites list were laughing babies, bacon sizzling and fireworks, so there’s a fair mix of different sounds in there.

The survey also looked at what our most hated sounds are. Unsurprisingly, the sound of nails against a chalkboard was noted as the most hated sound while hearing someone getting sick came in a close second.
