Terrorist attack in Stockholm, Sweden

Explosions set off last night in the Swedish capital of Stockholm have been confirmed as 'terrorist attacks'.

There were two blasts in central Stockholm last night which resulted in the death of two people and the wounding of another.

Before the explosions took place, Swedish news agency TT recieved a threatening letter from an extremist Islamic fundamentalist warning the country about its presence in Afghanistan and denouncing a cartoon of Mohammed drawn by a Swedish cartoonist several years ago.

"Our actions will speak for themselves, as long as you do not end your war against Islam and humiliation of the Prophet and your stupid support for the pig Vilks," a man said in a recording that was also sent to TT.

"We are investigating this as terror crimes according to Swedish law but we have not raised the security threat level," Anders Thornberg of the Swedish security police has said.
