The lads in the conclave got their business done real quick, and the new guy at the head of the Catholic Church is Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
We’ve spent longer pondering who to back in the Gold Cup but the Cardinals didn’t hang around when it came to picking the new Pontiff.
After just one day of meetings, the 266th Pope will be Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
Shortly after 6pm the white smoke went up and that indicated the job was done and at 7.15 his name was announced off the balcony of the Vatican.
The new fella will take the name Francis I and he'll be delighted to hear he has the backing of the Mayo Association.

He's the first South American Pope so we fully expect Lionel Messi to be a Saint by the end of the week.
