Tottenham line up £12million bid for Manchester United midfielder

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick could be on his way back to White Hart Lane according to reports of a £12million transfer in January.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be keen on bringing some experienced personnel to the club to help their cause domestically and in the Champions League.

Former Spurs player Carrick has found first team opportunities hard to come by with Man United and has only started six Premier League matches this season and could be tempted by a move back to North London if he felt that he would be guaranteed first team football.

The 29-year-old would cost Spurs somewhere in the region of £12million if a deal can be struck.
