Transfer talk: Rooney and the dressing room revolt, Luis Sue-arez and Bent gets things straight…

Rooney and Suarez get antsy, Bale is still at Spurs and Downing could be on his way out of Anfield

JOE

It’s beginning to get messy in the transfer window as Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez reportedly attempt to sledgehammer moves to other clubs. Meanwhile, another London club shows interest in Aston Villa striker Darren Bent and Gareth Bale’s proposed move to Real Madrid has apparently resulted in death threats for the Welshman…. charming.

Reports this morning are saying Wayne Rooney has made his feelings clear to Manchester Utd manager David Moyes and he wants out of the champions. The frontman didn’t travel with the rest of the squad to a pre-season friendly in Stockholm, officially because of a shoulder injury, but it’s looking like there’s no going back now, with The Guardian saying he’s about to issue a formal transfer request and The Daily Express going as far to say there could be a “dressing room revolt” if he stays. Chelsea are thought to be prepping a third bid of around £30 million clams for the scouser.

And what about aaaaaaaul Luis Suarez? Will we be seeing him line out against Celtic next week at The Dublin Decider in The Aviva? At this stage your guess is as good as ours; The Daily Mail seem to think he’s thinking of taking legal action against his current employers to push through a move to either Arsenal or Real Madrid. Given how loyal Liverpool fans have been to the Uruguayan (recently giving him a rousing reception at the Steven Gerrard testimonial) that would be a right kick in the knackers for them if it’s true… but it’s probably not. The Daily Mirror and The Star are also saying that winger Stuart Downing is another who could be on his way out of Anfield for a cut price £5 million – with Joe Kinnear getting ready to put his negotiating hat on for Newcastle. It’s a bit like his “sitting there and not really doing anything” hat, but swisher.

Another striker who’s quite probably on the move is Darren Bent – his latest suitors being Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace, who are apparently very keen on the former Spurs and Sunderland hitman. Fulham had been thought to be the frontrunners for his signature along with Newcastle, but Ian Holloway sounds like he could be awful convincing… especially if he’s rapping. Word.

No further revelations on Gareth Bale’s possible world record move to Real Madrid, other than a “fan” apparently rang the club to threaten him… with death… if he moves. Which is very silly.  He has “surprisingly” turned up at Spurs training ground today, which Sky Sports News are reporting like the birth of the royal baby.

Kevin Doyle’s move to Celtic is hopefully still on, with Wolves looking for around £2 million for the Republic of Ireland international and a reason not to pay his £40,000 a week wages. Celtic’s valuation doesn’t seem to match Kenny Jacketts, with the Scotish champs unlikely to budge past £1.5 million – at a push.
