Giovanni Trapattoni names his provisional squad for the next two crucial qualifiers, with the big man at the back, Richard Dunne, making his return

Giovanni Trapattoni has named the provisional 29-man panel that he will choose his starting line-up from for the huge qualifiers against Sweden and Austria next month.

The big name that many fans will be happy to see is the return of Richard Dunne, who has had a long injury lay off, with the manager having seen enough when flying out to chat to Dunne himself in person last week to convince him he would be ready for the crucial international matches.

Paddy Madden, who was exciting in his debut against Wales in the recent friendly, also gets the nod to come back in, while Clark, who suffered an injury in Villa’s game against Chelsea but had recovered enough to make the bench for yesterday’s game is also included.

The squad in full is: Forde, Westwood, Randolph, O’Shea, O’Brien, St Ledger, Wilson, Coleman, Kelly, O’Dea, Clark, Dunne, McShane, Whelan, McCarthy, Green, Hendrick, McGeady, Pilkington, McClean, Brady, Meyler, Hoolahan, Long, Keane, Sammon, Walters, Madden, Cox.
