Whoa…
A statement today from UEFA will certainly put a flutter across some very major European clubs, including Liverpool.
The Anfield club, alongside Monaco, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan, Besiktas and Krasnodar will need to provide further documentation to Uefa to verify ‘break even’ numbers they declared for the end of the 2012-13 reporting period.
ITV quotes Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as saying: “It’s obviously something that will be dealt with by the directors. It’s something we’re comfortable with because we’re great advocates of financial fair play. It’s ongoing with the club.”
Manchester City and PSG have been hit with sanctions in the past by Uefa for FFP issues.
