Video: A teary Ryan Giggs gives an emotional address on the pitch at Old Trafford
Somebody had obviously been chopping some onions in the home dugout…
It was an emotional evening at Old Trafford this evening as the home faithful bade farewell to Nemanja Vidic in his final home appearance for the Red Devils before his departure to Inter Milan in the summer, while Ryan Giggs may also have played his last game at the ground after bringing himself on as a second half substitute.
Interim manager Giggs addressed the crowd following the game and became a little emotional as he acknowledged what a difficult season it’s been for the soon to be dethroned Premier League champions, while hailing Vidic and promising a return to better times and more success at Old Trafford.
At times it was hard to hear what was being said over chants about Vidic and Giggs from the home crowd and while Giggs did seem emotional at times, it’s no real surprise given that it could have been his last home game for a club he’s given remarkable service to as a player for over two decades.
