Video: A very nasty clash of heads in the Napoli v Juventus game tonight

There was plenty of bite in the Serie A clash between Napoli and Juventus this evening, but the worst challenge involved two players from the same team.

Juve earned a 1-1 draw in Naples after Giorgio Chiellini’s powerful header was cancelled out by Gokhan Inler’s deflected effort, but both players’ heads will be pounding tomorrow after they were involved in nasty-looking collisions.

Chiellini was the recipient of a hefty and very deliberate looking elbow from Edinson Cavani later on for which the Uruguayan was lucky to escape with only a yellow card (see below).

Inler, meanwhile, came off best in an accidental collision with teammate Miguel Britos which may have been caused by an ever-so-slight nudge by Juve’s Arturo Vidal on Inler seconds before impact (skip to 42 seconds in the video above if you don’t want to see 20 replays of Chiellini’s goal beforehand).

Britos looked a little groggy afterwards and was eventually replaced by Blerim Dzemaili and if we were him we’d throw a bit of ice on the noggin before going to sleep tonight, there’ll be some lump after that.
