He set up the winner against Shakhter Karagandy during the week and scored the winner himself against Dundee United today. It hasn’t been a bad week for Anthony Stokes.

The Dubliner played a crucial role in James Forrest’s all-important goal that sealed Celtic’s place in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday night and he went one better with another late intervention away to Dundee today.

With no goals scored and 87 minutes on the clock, Stokes stepped up to a free kick just outside the area and clipped it, almost Pirlo-like, into the net off the post close to the top corner and into the net to ensure that the Hoops left Tannadice with all three points.
