After second-placed Barcelona’s home clash against third-placed Valencia was perceived to be one of the Catalan giants toughest games of the season, Pep Guardiola’s men ran out 5-1 winners in a tie memorable for a four-goal haul from an extremely effective Messi.
The performance comes one week after Cristiano Ronaldo hit a hat-trick for Real Madrid and one day after the Portuguese forward equalled Real Madrid legend Juanito’s 121 goals for the club. Clearly, anything Cristiano Ronaldo can do, Messi can do just a little bit better.
