It’s not in the same league as Joey Barton’s French and Shteve McLaren’s Dutch, but Peter Reid is another struggling to master a foreign language.

The former Thailand manager has been doing a bit of commentary in recent years in far away Middle Eastern fields, sometimes appearing on the Dubai-based ShowSports channel offering analysis on Premier League games.
In this clip we see him in Arabic company attempting to give the language a go, but we will be as polite as we can by saying there is room for improvement.
Our favourite part comes 5 minutes and 30 seconds in when Peter challenges the host to put his money where his mouth is in a case of mistaken identity, before immediately realising that gambling is not exactly embraced in Arabic culture.
“I bet you,” he says, before quickly adding, “no, no you can’t”.
A learned man, that Peter Reid.
