Anyone who has missed a flight knows how frustrating an experience it can be, so imagine how p*ssed off you’d be if you missed two flights on the same day? About this p*ssed off, we reckon.
High-level Chinese government official Yan Linkun of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee arrived at Changshui airport with his wife and two kids for a flight in recent days and although they had plenty of time to spare, a long breakfast caused them to miss it.
As it turns out it wasn’t such a big deal as staff at the airport organised seats for Linkun and his family on a flight later that day, but they ended up missing that one too, with Linkun claiming afterwards that he hadn’t heard the boarding call, an excuse familiar to many in these parts after one pint too many to settle the nerves pre-flight in the airport bar.
It was at this point that Linkun completely lost his head at the boarding gate, as after his demand to be allowed board the plane was refused, he set about completely destroying the boarding desk and even attempted to smash the glass door at the boarding gate (skip ahead to around 1:20 in the video above for the good stuff).
Unfortunately for Linkun, all of this happened in full view of quite a large audience and the nearby CCTV cameras and the footage has gone viral in China in the last few days.
As a result, Linkun has been suspended from the Yunnan Mining Industry Company with which he is involved in, he is expected to be disciplined by his party and may also face punishment as a result of a police investigation.
Maybe he should just opt for the long drive next time around.
