Aston Villa looked like they had gotten to the break tied at 0-0 with Manchester City. Then Irish international Ciaran Clark made one little mistake. 1-0.
You would have to feel nothing but sympathy for Ciaran Clark this evening. The young Irish international lined out for Aston Villa this evening and for 44 minutes the 23-year-old and his team-mates were keeping Manchester City at bay, with a little help from keeper Brad Guzan.
Then, right before half-time, Clark dawdled on a ball as he looked for a pass, Edin Dzeko nipped in, Clark slipped and the ball was gone. Dzeko teed up Tevez, who bore down on goal and then, using some fine skills, beat a few defenders before slotting the ball home.
It’s tough at the top.
