A great display of fair play from Serie D, which is our favourite Italian league of course
Now, we’re not about to admit that we watch much Serie D (a bit of Serie A is as far as we go really), so that’s why this video popped up on our radar today, even though it happened last week.
This display of fair play comes from Serie D in the game between Fersina and Dro, where a throw in (another bit of fair play) that was passed back to the ‘keeper inexplicably ends up in the back of the net as it somehow wriggles through his hands and his legs, leaving him feeling a bit silly. Perhaps, we dare suggest, that is why he plays in Serie D.
Anyway, the Fersina players still let the opposition score straight from tip to level things out, and make sure that there were no complaints from either side. What makes this even better is that there is a derby element to this game, and both teams are fighting for survival, so it’s good to see that sportsmanship is still important even in those circumstances.
