Cristiano Ronaldo threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Dodgers v Yankees game in LA last night and, well, let’s just say that, in baseball lingo, he didn’t exactly knock it right out of the park.
Real Madrid were in LA as part of their pre-season preparations last night and their biggest star was invited to the game to meet the players, to do a little batting practise and as has been the privilege of many famous faces at baseball games in the past, he got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Given the way we all know he can strike a free-kick and the fact that he is one powerfully built individual, one might have expected a speedy curveball from one of the best footballers in the world, but instead he delivered the somewhat limp effort you can see in the video above.
His second effort was slightly better but we would have expected a little better from Ronnie and besides, it was a long way off arguably the best ceremonial pitch ever seen in the history of the sport…
