In his first game of the new season, Cristiano Ronaldo treated the fans to one of his unique free-kick goals.
In one of the more low-key starts to a managerial career, the first game for Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid boss was played last night against Championship new boys Bournemouth.
Fans had to pay £60 to get in but the 11,722 who did at least saw the Spanish giants put on a show. Ancelotti gave starts to the likes of Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil and Luka Modric but the star, of course, was Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese international was in the mood to show off and he spent the game treating the fans to all manner of tricks, backheels, stopovers etc…
But he also managed to score twice in the 6-0 win and his first was a Ronaldo special. Modric was fouled 30 yards from goal and Ronnie stepped up and drilled in one of his vicious dipping efforts right into the bottom corner.
