If you were told that an important football match had to be called to a halt because a load of cows staged a pitch invasion you’d probably react by saying that it was a load of old bull, but thankfully there’s video footage to prove that it did actually happen in Peru at the weekend.

Minsa FBC were taking on Expreso Inambari in the Peru Tournament in Madre de Dios when the game had to be temporarily halted after several cows staged a pitch invasion, moo-ving at a pace, initially at least, that could have harmed the players on the pitch.

After a while they got comfortable, stopped milking their welcome and began grazing in a certain area of the pitch – which it must be said, was in terrible condition – and when the ref was happy that they were out of harm’s way he got the game started once again; we can only assume they didn’t cause a similar amount of hassle in the second calf.
