Daniel Sturridge has proved to be a shrewd acquisition for Liverpool and he illustrated that with a classy hat-trick for the Reds today, his first for the club and first ever in the Premier League.
There’s plenty of attention on Liverpool’s biggest rivals over at Old Trafford this afternoon but Reds fans had plenty to shout about thanks to a convincing 3-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Daniel Sturridge netting all of the visitors’ three goals.
Philippe Coutinho, another astute January purchase, also played a starring role in Liverpool’s victory and played what is becoming a trademark through ball for the goal with which Sturridge completed his hat-trick and Sturridge’s clipped finish wasn’t half bad either.
Both Coutinho and Sturridge have only had a few months to make an impression at Anfield, but their contribution so far will give Liverpool fans reason for optimism when the Premier League kicks off again in August.
