You might think this is some sort of joke, but no, no it's not.
Sports stars in all codes often have to go to outrageous lengths to attract the corporate dollar, but we’re pretty sure we’ve never seen anything like what David Meyler and Curtis Davies had to go through on camera for the good of Hull City Tigers recently.
Irish international Meyler and a man who has been pretty adamant he’ll never play for Ireland, Davies, were roped in for the Ideal Boiler Challenge (we somehow doubt they volunteered), with both of them having to race against each other to strip a Logic+ boiler down and make it ready for servicing in the fastest possible time. If you must know, David lost, but somehow, when it boiled down to it, we doubt he was too bothered.
We’re not sure whether the folks at Ideal Boilers genuinely thought that people would think this was gas (gas, geddit? geddit?) or that they knew it was so ridiculous that it was bound to attract attention anyway, but hard as it might be to believe, it’s not the worst corporate video starring a footballer we’ve seen this year.
