As stamping incidents go, this is one of the worst we’ve seen so we expect the little Frenchman to be banned for a while.
French rugby, a bit like our own, is in a state of flux as the management look to find the perfect combination on the field.
One fella who won’t be playing Ireland this weekend is Biarritz’ Dimitri Yachvili. The scrum half has been out of favour at international level of late and his club days may be on hold for a while too after this incident.
Facing Racing Metro at the weekend, Yachvili, very uncharacteristically, went a bit mad and repeatedly stamped all over Henry Chavancy. Yachvili saw yellow for his attack and he has since been cited.
Cian Healy received three weeks for his stamping incident against England so Yachvili’s punishment will surely have to match or even exceed that.
