The 100th Tour de France is well and truly over at this stage, but some of the best videos from the tour are only making their way on the web now, like this one…

You expect to see bicycles at the Tour de France (it is a bike race after all), but you certainly wouldn’t expect to see a downhill mountain biker jumping over the yellow jersey rider as the leading group navigates around the tight twists and turns of the French mountains. However, that’s exactly what happened over the weekend.

Back in 2002 Dave Watson surprised Tour de France spectators when he attempted to jump a road gap over the tour riders, but he messed up his landing and fell off the bike (see here).

Now, Romain Marandet and the crew from Encho Rage have helped Kevin Demolis, Alexis Bosson, Killian Bron, and Emeric Caron complete the famous ‘gap jump’ and this time it was right over the yellow jersey of Chris Froome.
