Although The Simpsons is still on the air, the majority of the show’s fans would agree that it has gone well past it’s sell-by date and that it is not a patch on the golden era back in the early days.

As such, hardcore Simpsons fans love to nostalgically recall the days when it established itself as one of the best TV shows of all time and they have another opportunity to do just that with this rather lengthy but still eeeeexcellent compilation from Next Movie of all of the film references included in the first five seasons.

Some of the references are quite subtle and some a little more explicit, but there are some classics in there, from the brilliant Raiders of the Lost Ark opening sequence to Homer taking a mad turn in ‘The Shinning’ as part of the Treehouse of Horror episode in Season Five.
