This is a super goal, an actual ‘super goal’, scored by Irish player Zach Tuohy for Carlton in the NAB Cup final at the weekend.
In the end, it was fellow Irish AFL star Pearce Hanley who won the day as his team Brisbane ran out 109-69 winners over Carlton in the NAB Cup final Down Under this weekend.
The Mayo man played very well, and he is set to be one of the stars of the 2013 AFL season, but we will focus on Laois man Zach Tuohy here. The 23-year-old showed just how potent a weapon he can be when he kicked this monster goal for the Melbourne side.
In the NAB Cup goals kicked outside the 50-metre line are called ‘super goals’ and count as nine points rather than the standard six points. That’s what Tuohy managed with this bomb.
We wonder if a similar idea, maybe two points for a point kicked from outside the 40, would work in the GAA?
