Yeah, the man known as Batigol has still got it, alright.

We got a great kick out of reliving the genius of the original Ronaldo in a glorious compilation of him embarrassing goalkeepers in one-on-one situations last week and the late 90s to mid-2000s continued into this week as one of Ronaldo’s peers from that era showed that he’s still got it at the ripe old age of 45.

Gabriel ‘Batigol’ Batistuta was one of the most feared strikers around on his day, scoring over 300 career goals in a career that lasted for almost two entire decades and included spells at Argentinean giants River Plate and Boca Juniors, a lengthy stay at Fiorentina, a few years at Roma and 78 caps for the national side.

He was in action in Italy last night in a charity game titled “La Partita del Cuore,” a clash between an Italian national team of singers and a team made up of high profile former players such as Batistuta, Antonio di Natale and Rino Gattuso and Batigol stole the show with two goals, one of which was remarkably similar to the type of cracker he scored on a regular basis during his heyday.

This kid’s going places alright.
