This group of Irish mates were out enjoying the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean when they decided that pushing one of their friends into the path of an oncoming shark was a good idea...

Who needs enemies when you have friends like this? The clip was originally posted on YouTube back in May 2010, but it’s only going viral now and it’s not hard to see why. Sure it's trending over on Reddit as we speak.

At first it looks as though the friends are trying to get rid of the weakest link in the group by topping him off mafia style by throwing him to the oncoming shark. However, the clip was shot off the coast of Donegal near Rossnowlagh, so the beast in question is nothing more than a basking shark.

Now, while we wouldn’t want to get in the way of the monstrous looking creature, they’re practically harmless to humans because they don’t have razor sharp teeth like their great whites cousins. At least the poor bloke can be glad of that.
