Cheeky stuff from Howard here…

The common theory on why people become referees is that they were football crazy but weren’t good enough players so to stay in the game they love, they decided to become an official. Well, that’s what we heard down the pub anyway…

One of most well known referees in the Premier League is Howard Webb. He’s famous for his no-nonsense style of officiating, giving penalties at Old Trafford, his relationship with the players and not sending Nigel De Jong off for his karate kick on Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup Final.

What we didn’t know about Howard is that he’s a decent footballer or at the very least, he’s a good penalty taker. Footage of a charity match from 2012 has surfaced and check out Webb’s wonderful last minute Panenka penalty…
