As we all know, parallel parking is one of the toughest driving skills to master – up there with the likes of texting, driving and having a coffee at the same time. Yet one Chinese stunt driver has mastered it.

Driver Yan Hue eased his way into the Guinness World Record books with an incredible feat of parking that left the front of his MINI Cooper Chinese Job special edition wedged into a total space of separation from two cars in front and behind him of just 15cm.

That’s right, he actually drifted into a space that was only 15cm longer than the car itself. To put that into perspective, the previous record holder – Patrick Folco – managed 22cm, a difference of around one-third. No offence Patrick but perhaps it’s time to find a new world record to try and beat from now on.

The world record attempt was part of the launch night for the Chinese Job special edition of the MINI Cooper which means that not only was there a new record to be excited about, MINI probably have the title for the best possible marketing outcome too – after all, here’s a car that has broken a world record before even going on sale.

Have a look at the jaw-dropping clip above and skip to the 1.15 mark to see the new world record in all its glory. Oh and for your neighbour’s sake, please don’t try this at home.

Finally, we’ll just mention that if the little guy in the below clip has been practising, Yan may not be holding onto his world record for very long:
