A desperately unlucky ice-hockey player was already in agony when he was caught with an accidental strike in the face by another player’s hockey stick. Then this happened…
Ice-hockey can, it’s fair to say, be an aggressive sport at times and it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise if a player cops a nasty punch or two to the face when a brawl breaks out on the ice.
What happened in the video above, however, was totally accidental yet is still probably the most gruesome incident we’ve seen in the sport in a long time.
Andre Deveaux was playing for the San Antonio Rampage against the Texas Stars and was unfortunate enough to be caught in the head by a flailing stick of an opponent before one of his own teammates stepped onto his face while he was already writhing in pain on the ground.
The video is not of the highest quality and mercifully we don’t see how badly Deveaux’s face was damaged afterwards but it’s still tough enough to watch so if you’re the squeamish type, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
