There was a helluva lot of football on last night so there’s a good chance that you may have missed the goal of the night; a brilliant individual effort by Gareth Bale against Norwich.
The Welshman doesn’t really do tap-ins or run of the mill efforts; his goals tend to be slaloming individual efforts or long-range thunderbolts with that trusty left foot of his.
Last night’s goal against Norwich was a combination of both as Bale latched onto a loose ball just inside his own half and evaded the attention of three Canary opponents on his way to goal before lashing the ball past potential Irish international Mark Bunn to draw Spurs level late on.
Bale’s critics will say they are surprised that he didn’t go down under a challenge in the centre circle earlier on in the run, but nobody can deny the brilliance of this effort, coming as it did after our own Wes Hoolahan combined with Anthony Pilkington to put Norwich in front in the first half.
If you haven’t seen that goal yet, you can do so here.
