Video: Irish lad kicks a monster point in Times Square

Here’s another Monaghan footballer showing what he can do.

JOE

Here’s another Monaghan footballer showing what he can do.

Using two skyscrapers as his goalposts Pete Dooney, from Monaghan, turned New York’s Times Square into his own version of St Tiernach’s Park. Using what we’re pretty sure is not a regulation O’Neill’s, Pete takes a very solid run it (it’s not his first time booting a ball) and simply lashes it into the inky black Big Apple sky.

Where the ball landed we don’t know, and with enough cops in Times Square to fill Clones, we wouldn’t risk aggravating the boys in blue, but it seems no harm was done.

All we need now is Hawk-Eye to rule if it was a score or a wide.

Cheers to James Mulligan for sending our way.
