Back when we were kids it was a bit of craic to play football in the snow, but this appears to be a little bit much
By Adrian Collins
The United States took on Costa Rica in Denver last night in a game that could have huge implications for the managerial career of Jurgen Kilnsmann.
With rumours of disquiet in the camp, Klinsmann has an important few days ahead of him, as the US team, who should be dominating their region, sit behind Honduras in the group.
But that vital game got even more difficult when the weather took a turn for the worse and a blizzard hit, covering the pitch and the fans in snow. It's almost totally impossible to see the ball, we have no idea how they managed to play on in this.
We also suspect that Costa Rica might not be very used to these conditions either, which may have helped the US pip them to the win by just 1-0.
Another huge game for Klinsmann awaits next week, as they have to travel to the Azteca to take on their neighbours and fierce rivals Mexico, which promises to be a cracker.
