Everton and Liverpool shared six goals in an enthralling Merseyside derby today, but Luis Suarez might not be too pleased with Kevin Mirallas after the two clashed in a couple of incidents.

The Uruguayan continued his blistering form in the Premier League since his return from suspension with a first half-free-kick that found its way past Tim Howard to give the Reds a 2-1 lead.

However, fellow goal scorer Kevin Mirallas could count himself most fortunate not to see red for this high challenge on Suarez, which after a long consulatation, Phil Dowd deemed to be worthy of only a yellow.

After the break, Suarez flew into a challenge on the Belgian that saw Mirallas airborne, but on the way down made connection with a leg drop manoeuvre that would be more likely viewed in the WWE.

We’re not saying it was intentional of course, but again the Everton striker could be considered very lucky not to escape with a second caution, even if the challenge from Suarez was meaty.

A Merseyside derby that had it all, except rather surprisingly, a red card.
