It has been one hell of a first half in the Merseyside derby and Luis Suarez has restored Liverpool’s lead with a stunning free-kick.
The Merseyside derby rarely fails to disappoint and the start to today’s encounter has been no different. Prior to today, this fixture in the Premier League had never seen both teams score in the opening 10 minutes, but thanks to some very generous defending on both sides that statistic was changed.
First Philippe Coutinho put the Reds ahead and he pretty much had all the time in the world to do so when the corner broke to him in the box. The response from the Toffees was almost immediate, with Kevin Mirallas also scoring from six yards to the relief and delight of a raucous home crowd.
However it was the Uruguayan who put the away side back in front with a magnificent free-kick on the 19th minute mark, putting incredible bend on the ball and placing through a gap in the Everton wall.

Goal-scorer Mirallas could have seen red for a challenge on Suarez not long afterwards and a dismissal is almost inevitable the way the game is going.
