Paolo Di Canio left Swindon on Monday, but his creative spirit lives on if this goal from Gary Roberts last night is anything to go by.

The Italian parted ways with the club earlier in the week and his assistant Fabrizio Piccareta announced after the 3-1 win over Tranmere, a result that puts them top of the table, that the backroom team is to resign in protest. Well they bowed out in style, including a 70 metre goal from inside their own half.

Leading 2-1 in the final moments of the game, Tranmere pushed on for a late equaliser, with their goalkeeper moving into an advanced position.

Paolo, a master of the spectacular himself, will have been proud of Roberts’ finish.
