What a header. Almunia had no chance.
Getting hit full-whack in the face with a football is never nice (you should see what it’s like to get hit with a size 5 O’Neills), unless, of course, your face happens to divert the ball into the net for a goal that you know precious little about.
That’s exactly what happened Leicester’s Chris Wood when Manuel Almunia’s clearance hit him straight into the face and went into the back of the net at Vicarage Road this afternoon, giving the Foxes a 1-0 lead that they still hold at the time of writing.
As embarrassing as it was for Almunia, we imagine that Wood will do what all footballers do and claim that he meant it afterwards, when, no doubt, the imprint of the ball that him will no doubt still be visible on his mug.
What a goal.
