Video: O’Connell makes Young Munster return

After over eight months out with a groin injury, Munster and Ireland legend Paul O’Connell made a return to action with his club Young Munster on Friday night.

The 31-year old must have put the ‘fear of God’ into his Shannon opponents when they saw him introduced for the second half, but O’Connell ended up on the losing side after Young Munster fell to a one-point defeat, 18-17, in the All-Ireland League clash at Thomond Park.

With 40 minutes of action under his belt, there is a good chance O’Connell will feature for Tony McGahan’s side before Christmas and will hopefully be fit to feature in Ireland’s Six Nations campaign which gets underway in February.
