We’re still in the qualifying stages of the Champions League but this effort could still be up there with the goals of the tournament come the end of the season. What a strike.
Lyon hosted Real Sociedad in the qualifying stages of the Champions League this evening but the prospect of taking on such an experienced European outfit as Lyon in their own backyard obviously held no fear for Antoine Griezmann if this goal is anything to go by.
With just over 15 minutes gone at the Stade Gerland, the Frenchman latched onto a cross from the left-wing with a perfectly struck scissors-kick that flew off his left boot and into the corner to give the visitors the lead.
The goal is even more impressive when you consider that he had to halt his run and then engage in some acrobatics to get into the position to even make a connection and what a connection it was.
