Video: So it seems Joey Barton shot a hole-in-one in France yesterday

It’s up to you whether you believe it or not, but Joey Barton has claimed that he shot a hole-in-one while on the golf course in France yesterday. And he has video evidence too.

Typical of the man, his reaction was understated and quite humble. Well, not quite.

The Marseille midfielder and bad boy of English football began gloating late last night on Twitter about the ace he shot while out for a round with his mates in France yesterday, although in fairness to Barton, we’d have probably done likewise if we achieved something similar; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing after all.

Barton posted the video below on Facebook last night and although it doesn’t show him taking his tee-shot, himself and his friend shooting the makeshift video both agree that Barton had hit a peach and that if wasn’t actually in the hole, it was going to be mighty close.

On reaching the green, the video does show that there is a ball in the hole and for all the stuff Barton has been guilty of over the years, we very much doubt that he organised it so that a ball would be placed in the hole before his party began their walk towards the green.

Be sceptical if you want, but we believe Joey on this one, although it wasn't long before he returned to his old ways on his favourite social networking site.
