Webb was back in the headlines for the wrong reasons again yesterday following his failure to award Liverpool a blatant penalty in their FA Cup defeat to Arsenal, one of a series of decisions he got wrong at the Emirates. Needless to say, Liverpool fans were not happy.
Not happy at all.
This weekend also marked the release of the second season of the popular TV show House of Cards on Netflix, and although it was recorded ages ago, it seems all too convenient that one clip (see above) from Episode Four of the second season (Don’t worry there are no spoilers) included a dismissive conversation about a character in the show – also called Howard Webb – on this of all weekends.
