Irish people in Australia can expect calls from friends and relatives over Christmas, but not many of them will be expecting a call from Robbie Keane.
We dare say the couple – Ciaran and Elaine – in this video weren’t really expecting it either if their reaction to seeing Robbie is anything to go by, as the Ireland skipper teamed up with Ireland sponsors Three to offer one lucky fan a Skype call with a difference.
Anyone that’s used Skype, particularly when the distance between the two ends of the line is fairly substantial, will know that the delay can make things a little awkward.
In fairness to Robbie though, he comes across very well as he has a bit of a chinwag with the couple about life in Australia, the crappy weather in Ireland and being at home for Christmas.
