Word has it he was shouting ‘You shall not pass’ at the Oman players all evening long.

We can’t really quibble because it was only Ireland’s second victory in the MONKeano era, but it wouldn’t be stretching it to say that Ireland’s win over Oman last night wasn’t the most entertaining game ever seen at the Aviva. That being the case, viewers watching on television were on the lookout for amusement away from the pitch and it appears they found it when spotting a doppelganger for none other than Gandalf from Lord of the Rings in the crowd after Kevin Doyle put Ireland ahead.     Whether this guy will make a hobbit of turning up for Ireland games and we’ll see him again in the future remains to be seen, but kudos to those who picked him out, it’s a great spot in fairness. Hat-tip to Baz Lyons and P Kelly for sending this one our way
