The striker must surely now be a doubt for both the Champions League Final and the World Cup, but his club side are celebrating their first La Liga title in 18 years.

Diego Costa broke down in tears after being forced off in Atletico Madrid’s La Liga decider against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

The 25-year-old – widely tipped to be moving to Chelsea in the summer – pulled up in agony after seeming to pull him hamstring.

The Brazilian born striker, who plays for Spain, is now a serious doubt for the Champions League final against Real Madrid next Saturday, with the World Cup following in Brazil in less than a month.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez put Barca ahead with this absolute belter from a tight angle.

Diego Godin equalised early in the second half for Atletico with this bullet header, and it would go on to become one of the most important goals in Atletico’s history as they held on for a precious point.
