Liverpool’s clash with Fulham last night had five goals and plenty of late drama but it also had two moments of high quality and hilarity that may have escaped your attention.

The Reds climbed to within four points of leaders Chelsea after Steven Gerrard’s late penalty handed them all three points after a dramatic 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage, with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho also getting on the scoresheet for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Surprisingly, Luis Suarez didn’t hit the net – he’s in the middle of a ‘barren’ run of no goals in three games – but he did hit the post and produced a moment of delightful skill when turning Sascha Riether inside out with a gorgeous turn in the second half.

While that move was all about Suarez’s subtlety and awareness of space, quite the opposite could be said about the incident when Phil Dowd was on the end of an absolute clattering from Kolo Toure early doors, shortly after another moment of clumsiness on his part had resulted in Fulham taking the lead.

Ouch.
