Wasn’t 25th Super Mario Bros. anniversary last year? Nevermind, if Converse want to make gorgeous collaborations then we don’t mind how wrong their calenders are.
Japanese footwear site Shoes Master (great name guys) have gotten their hands on the first pics of an upcoming collaboration between Converse and Nintendo – the Super Mario Bros. x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 25th Anniversary Collection.
That’s quite a mouthful but tell your footwear stockists that you want a pair of the SMBXCCTAS25A and they should nod knowingly – or maybe not.
As you can see, the hi-top, which comes in a black or white colourway, is lovingly designed and boasts little touch that Nintendo fans can approve of. We especially like the decision to include the eyes of a Super Mario star item on the Converse star logo. Each shoe also features mini prints of the 8-bit Super Mario from his NES days.
Sadly, we have no firm Euroean dates for these anniversary-related releases but lucky Japanese shoppers have to wait too long – the collaboration reaches their shores this July.
